Today I had to say goodbye to one of my 3 dogs. We had tried all we could to help him with medication and other treatments over the last few weeks but he had congestive heart failure and was miserable and unable to walk or enjoy his life. Although we knew this was the best decision for him it has broken my heart and I am feeling just sick that he's not with us anymore.

I know with time things will get better, but right now I miss him, sleep well Louie, you were such a good boy and you were very much loved.

It's hard. Never an easy thing. You know, what might make things easier is to take the love you gave Louie and give it to another as soon as you can; it helped me and the wife when our dog died. This is Gizzy. Now who could resist this face even when his predecessor had so recently passed away?
