I am so glad I found this forum!!! First I'll answer my questions...

1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

June 7, 2011....I'm a newbie

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

We have 22: Mabel, Martha, Pedro, Remus, Mamie, Walter, Ralph, Alice, Blanche, Romeo, Henrietta, Harriet, Little, David Cassidy, Danny Bonaduce, Susan Dey, Reuban, Erma, Seven Up, Sprite, Cledus and William

(3) What breeds do you have?

We have Plymouth Rocks, and several different Bantams

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

Google, who knew???

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

We also have 2 goats, Spanky and Alfalfa, 6 ducks (probably future dinner, they stink) and a baby potbelly pig, Truffle.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

We live just outside a small town in rural Manitoba Canada. I have 4 kids, 3 boys and a girl, and my husband and I run a tireshop. Our little farm all started when my kids rescued a wild duck. We built him a coop, and my husband figured he needed some friends. I had NO experience with farm animals, and I was very intimidated by the chickens, but now they are my FAVOURITE!! BTW, our wild duck was rehabilitated and flew away on his own.

But of course since I am still new to this chicken thing, I figured I could use all the advice I could get..... So happy to be here:)

Good Morning from East Texas!
I am very happy to have found this forum!

1) I am very new to raising chickens, will probably be asking lots of questions.

2) I have Bantams...1 Rooster (Doc) and 3 Hens (Bella) (Goldilocks) (Grayley)
My Grandkids named them all. Sadly I lost one last week to a crafty coon. (Brownie)...she is greatly missed!

3) Oops already answered this question....Have Bantams...

4) I found BYC website by Google

5) I love to do crafts....I also make diaper cakes and sew when I have the time. I keep my grandkids Riley...in third grade...and Landon...4yrs old
sadly my other babies just moved away, and this is why I have Chickens. LOL

6) Married to my husband for 40 yrs. Been a great time. I have two daughters, two great son-in-laws and 5 grandbabies.
Riley and Landon live very close by, and love to help with the chickens.
Brooke 10, Christina 7, and Hannah 2weeks old!, The chickens belong to Brooke, and Christina. I inherited them when they had to move
due to Dad's new job. The neighborhood they live in does not allow chickens. So Nana and Papa are careing for them. They miss them alot.
They are homeschooled and the chickens were to be a fun learning experience for them. Sadly they only had them for about a year. But Nana
will take good care of them until they are able to have them again!

Well, I am very glad to be here and hope to get good advice on keeping the chickens happy and healthy!

Pat
