Can someone PLEASE advise me on what to do here?

2 broken eggs have covered many other eggs with yolk. SHould I clean the eggs with warm water? LEave them alone? THe nestbox is starting to stink.

If the hatching eggs are covered in yolk and white from broken eggs, the pores of the shells will most likely be a bit gummed up, which could prevent oxygen transfer through the shells to the embryos inside. I've rinsed off eggs like this before, in warm water. They went on to hatch okay...

Thank you. Many of the eggs are covered! ANd Iwas worried about the pores not breathing; but water can fill the egg pores too.

Will clean them asap.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

I think most recommend dipping in water that is slightly warmer than the egg...this causes the pores to shrink and hopefully prevents anything from seeping in the egg...then pat dry gently. Avoid scrubbing! Good luck!
