Can anyone help me? Our sweet chicken Pepper has a yellow/white discharge from her vent. A few minutes ago I checked on her and she now has a vey dark substance around her vent as well...

Can you try to get her vent cleaned up enough to see what is going on? A warm shallow bath or soak for about 15-20 minutes in a dishpan or large bucket or sink would be best. You may use dishsoap and water, betadine, chlorhexidene, or Epsom Salts in the water. Do it inside where it is warm, and look to see if she has been pecked around her vent or if she has suffered a prolapse. Vent pecking would look like bloody injury, and it looks like dried blood in the pic. Sometimes they do that if the hen has a prolapsed vent which is bright red. Take another picture of the clean vent. Apply plain Neosporin or other antibotic ointment to the area.

The yellowish urates in the dropping may be from bile from egg yolk peritonitis or liver disease. Has she been recently laying eggs? Is her lower abdomen enlarged?
