Hello all, I live on a small lake. We have a group of birds that live here year round. There are two particular groups I will mention. First is a female goose, "Mama" that hangs out with two black male ducks, there were two black male ducks and one black female duck until about a week ago and the female goose killed her. There is another group of a male goose, "Goose", one male mallard and 4 brown ducks that hang out together. One particular black duck is a very randy, if you know what I mean. Any chance he gets he will jump one of the browns. This is followed by the female "Mama" goose piling on top and them trying to drown the brown. I wish there was a reverse viagra I could give that stickin black duck, he cannot kill the brown but Mama can. I'm thinking about relocating Mama but I feel guilty about that. Is there anything I can do other than throw rocks at her ? I know my neighbors think I'm nuts.

Unless they are your or someone else's pets, they are considered wild. If they are someone else's pets, you should contact them. Just because they have become accustom to people, doesn't make them less wild. For example, bears learn that people have food and will come eat food people leave. It actually makes them more dangerous because they are now wild animals that do not fear people. Some people actually feed bears on purpose. Dumb.
If you have issues with the wild geese and ducks, you could contact animal control or DNR depending on what the true concern is. It sounds like they are being normal ducks and geese and this is what happens in the natural habitat. Birds actually aren't all that friendly of a species especially to one another in their natural habitat.
Also, I hope you aren't feeding them bread as It is one of the worst foods to feed birds.

Where I live, animal control handles domestic animals, the game warden handles wild animals
