it didnt hurt him at all. Hes a big pied gander now, one of the leaders. Here he is last fall

And this was him about 3 days later after his attempt to be Nerf ball

Soo cute!! I'm glad he wasn't hurt! Mom must have really been mad to throw the lil cutie!

I believe he was snuggled in her wings while she was waiting on the others to hatch. I knew she had two white ones already. So when i peeked in like i did everyday, she catapulted him in the air with her flapping when she threatened me.

Back on subject, 7 month old chinese geese mating, are they playing around or can i expect eggs from them this year? I know chinese mature quicker but just wanted to know for sure. Also they are mating with my older chinese gander.

We have babies!!!! 2 of the 3 from the first batch hatched! The third is still fighting hard, not out yet. We set up one of our surveillance cams up on motion detection alarms and it woke us around 6am. The next came about 5 hours later. I can not believe ANY made it from the first shipment! The solid yellow one had an air cell so bad that we didn't know which way was up. ARG! Can't wait for the third one.... And the 6 surviving from the replacement shipment just went into lockdown.

Anyone care to guess at breeds?!?!?!?

The dark ones are either brown chinese or african, i can see the place for the knob on their bills. The white are white chinese(white africans are rare) they also have a place for the knob on their bills.

Thanks!! The third just popped out of the shell! 3 of 3 that survived shipment from the first round. Pics coming soon. We got the hatching on vid this time by fluke. Jeez... Haven't slept at all in 3 days and with this next batch going into lockdown tonight, I doubt I'll get any in the next 3. I have no idea how the heck we'll choose 2 if all of them hatch. Never imagined they would! Seriously figured that if we got 2 it would be a miracle.
