GOOSE BREEDING THREAD - for breeding, incubating, hatching and rearing.

That sounds like a protein problem I would up the protein levels when young or maybe it's that their not getting enough niacin I'm pretty sure that's how it's spelled I would look more into niacin I don't know a lot about it but I do know it causes wing deformities in water fowl if not fed enough I think it's a mineral

Hello I don't breed geese yet but thought this thread would be a good read I have two nine-month-old African goslings that I'm wishing on a star are a pair but I'm starting to think are two girls :/ but im just waiting till it's egg laying time wish me luck ;)

Well 2 girls isn't so bad you will find a gander for them I'm sure.

Post pictures of your geese. Pretty clear full body and head shots. There are a couple of BYC goose folks that are pretty good at sexing by pictures.

I'm not worried about finding a gander I just would rather have a pair and I'll see if I can get a pic of the two they both are very similar in size but one is meaner and pushier than the other and the other one is shy Damascus is the shy one and Assyra is the mean one but Damascus has a very well developed knob but Assyra does not so any ideas?

Male African's will have a well developed knob so without any other information I would say you have a pair, Damascus the male and Assyra the female.
