Happy to hear she is doing good. she is very pretty.
She´s one of my favourites, she has such a personality. When she was tiny I was sure she was a cockerel, being so alert and assertive. I´m keeping an eye on her though. I had let her go back in with the main flock of birds as I´d already removed the cock to a different pen. The first night she roosted with the others, ok. The second night I didn´t check, and in the morning I found her standing in the pond! Sopping wet as it had rained too, she was shivering cold, so I washed her under a warm tap and wrapped a towel around her to take out the worst, dosed her up with ACVinegar, then left her back in the bedroom where she´d been before as we had to go out. Well she was ok and laid a couple of eggs in the box that I´d put on the floor for her. After a couple of days she improved enough to go back out again, but this time with the layers. Goodness knows how she ever ended up in the pond, at least she was in the shallow bit. There´s always something happening here!

Sammy thought for sure he was going to have his way with Missy this eve, but she let him know she isn't interested yet. He's going to have to wait.

Last year Sam scared on of my hens probably putting his head down and making her move and she accidentally jumped into the pool She's a frizzle bantam so very tiny, when I found her she was soaked and close to drowning, do you think one of the geese may have scared her into the pond?

I don´t think so, my geese are very mild-natured, they do shoo the ducks away, but the chickens don´t irritate them.
And she could have got out of the pond, too, but she was just standing there. I thought she´d been injured or something, but not a mark on her. It had been raining after a real storm, so I can only imagine that she´d taken cover under a bush down by the pond, and then as night came maybe she´d got spooked or something, and ended up there in the shallow part of the pond all night. If only they could tell us! Well, she´s recovered now, so all´s well. For now...........

Sammy has never liked her since she stood up to him one time when she had chicks.
Bantams are spunky little things, aren´t they? I used to have some, but the cock was so frisky that he wanted to mate with all my chickens and I didn´t want to have half-bantam everythings here, so he moved house.
Most folks around here have mixed-indian game breeds, very tough and the dogs learn to respect them, especially when there are chicks around.
My little yorkie went near a chicken with chicks once and ended up running for her life squealing like a piglet! She gave chickens a very wide berth after that!
