My older Embden girl laid last fall... but I didn't have a male old enough to keep me from having egg custard

My goodness another one that didn't read the memo that geese don't lay and sit this time of year.

Congrats!
Tell me! Miss Lydia...Sapphira is still sitting, here in New Mexico! She comes out to eat, swim and be her bully heifer self, and then goes back to her house. She is a nut!

Advice time again. My american buffs have successfully raised their 4 goslings into beautiful teenagers but now it's time for those young-uns to
be sold. How do I remove them to sell without destroying the parents trust? I raised mom and dad from day 2 along with 8 siblings and when those were sold it took months to get near this pair that I kept again. We spend a lot of time around them so theyre very friendly and underfoot but not used to being caught and held anymore. The two sabastapols that I incubated and raised are also in this gaggle and will not be sold at this time. I need to figure out their sex and then hopefully trade one to end up with an un-related pair so will be having this trust issue at least once more this fall.

We keep the juveniles in juvie flocks with 1 adult tending to them over the summer. Those who are staying go into the main flock, those selling stay in the juvie flock.
