Pretty babies!

I've got babies....:celebrate

Been hatching over the weekend. Last time I braved life and limb to go have a look there were 8 of them. I will take photos when they emerge from the nest.

I risked this yesterday....

They've managed to hatch out 10 successfully, I found 2 dead and one in really poor shape - its under a heat lamp at the moment but I don't think much of its chances (It was all curled up as if still in the egg and kind of locked there - I think it just got really cold - but it hasn't opened its eyes, has the shakes and can't move properly). All the rest of the eggs were stone cold so I took them all in and candled them - those that looked like possibilities I put in the incubator - unlikely to hatch anything but will have a go anyway.

Can anyone tell me if the lighter and darker colours mean anything?

Congrats on the goslings! I do not know what breed your geese are but the difference in colors can mean what color they are going to be and only on white it can mean male or female. But not so sure with colored geese.

this only works with emdbens and crossbreeds of embdems

the darker goslings are females and the lighter goslings are males with pilgram goslings males are light and females are really dark
