That lol and the cool weather setting in. Looking at a basket of eggs that my goose laid 6 wks ago isnt helping either. Silly goose dropped 8 of them, im going to make christmas ornaments out of them though.

Just witnessed at feed time, my toulouse gander flying 20ft in the air up hill all the way from the pond to the barn which is about 300 yrds in between. Didnt think this chubby butt could do that

Hi guys, I'm new to geese, and I have a few questions. I bought two goslings (embden) this spring when I bought my ducks. I intended on using them as breeders and using the offspring for stocking my freezer. They wouldn't even be a year old yet, so I'm not really expecting anything in 2014, but maybe by 2015?

I have had them lay 1st year & not a rookie to stocking my freezer with my wonderful geese I love to raise!

If you need any advice on breeds or time frame in culling just give me a holla!

Yes! did it...This is the goose that was terrified of the hatching youngster. which is the bigger one, top of pic. The next one, almost hidden, is the last one that hatched. Then, the third one down is the one that had a slow start, and the one nearest is the one that the duck hatched. The goose, Gloria, is proving to be a very good little mum now that she´s discovered they´re not really aliens!

And again!! This pic shows the head gander with the 6 1-month-olds around him, you can just see their feathers coming through, the older 2 goslings each side of them, all feathered up, practically as big as the parents, then on the left is the undergoose, mum of the 6, and the younger gander, dad of the tiny ones that you can just see inside the pen eating lettuce with their mum. I think the bigger ones had already scoffed theirs. Aren´t they great!!!!
