Goose can't walk

How long did it take? I have a goose who is t walking. It’s been 5 days. She tried but falls over.
I know I’m not the op but it may help pinpoint what’s wrong if you can answer a few questions.

How old is your goose?
Is the goose still eating/drinking?
What feed has the goose been eating?
Is your goose female and has she been laying?
Are there any other symptoms besides not moving that you’ve noticed, like panting, coughing, spitting up mucous, head shaking, seizures? Or did you notice stumbling or lack of balance when the goose was still able to move?
Have you noticed if the goose’s droppings are an unusual color like bright green, red or black, or mostly undigested or bubbly looking?

I would try giving your goose a vitamin boost to start with, if you can find vitamin b complex and poultry nutri-drench give them to your goose for a few days, if a goose is depleted in e & b vitamins it can cause them to go lame among other issues, other causes could be lead and zinc poisoning, bacterial or viral infection among others, a vet would be able to diagnose much better than I can but it’s understandable if that isn’t an option.

History: almost 1 year old embden goose. Broody over last 3 weeks. We do not have a drake so injury not possible. Lives with chickens and is our only goose.

Sunday: acting completely fine. Went to bed fine. Walking Normal.

Monday: morning- squatting in house. Hobbles out. Progresses over day to not walking/eating. Ready to lay first egg ever at some point.

Tuesday: vet visit. Able to retrieve egg. Still not waking.

Wednesday: still not walking. Got meloxicam to help with pain. Sciatic nerve pain?

Thursday: trying to stand up without success. Is able to maneuver in full bathtub. Tries to up and flap wings but can’t extend wings. We are massaging and extending both legs and wings.

Friday: no progress. I have a video of her but can’t post it. She tries to stand up. Throws her head forward and down for balance. Wings somewhat go out. It’s like there is a disconnect between her legs and the rest of her body.

I gave her some electrolytes and sav-a-chick that I had on hand this morning. She had her morning soak and swim in the bath and she is moving slightly better. I am headed to feed store in a little to get more vitamins and the nutridrench.

Thank you for the information! Yeah definitly up her vitamin intake, also does she have access to oystershell or layer feed, low calcium can also cause health issues.
She hasn’t gotten into any stagnant dirty water by any chance or found a ditch or been in a stagnant pond? A concern could be botulism, it causes a host of neurological problems and progressive paralysis because of toxins released by the bacteria, there is an antidote for it but she would need to get it from a vet.

She was on layer feed up until this point. So I don’t think it was the feed but who knows.
She has a very clean environment. I will defy ring botulism up to the vet.

She seems better! We are able to get her to stand. And she just took a few normal steps before falling over. I gave her supplements last night and this morning and it is nice to see the change. Will continue those for a few more days. Still not eating great. Not sure what to do there. I clipped her wings some too. She kept stepping on them and getting tangled. She is definitely progressing in the tub. Swimming a lot better.

When my gander was sick and refusing to eat I soaked his food in enough water to make “soup,” geese have a hard time resisting watered down feed. If you can offer treats like romaine lettuce, apples, grapes, watermelon, whatever treat she likes let her have as much as she wants, whatever she will eat let her have.

Look who is standing! She still gets off balance when she tries to walk but this is better than nothing!! Still not eating. Fighting me on giving supplements.
