Goose/Duck House Essentials?

We have 4 geese and 4 ducks in which we will likely get more ducks in the future. They will be free ranging during the day and locked up at night. The oldest are about 3 weeks old and we have to get a coop built! What are some essentials or things we should think about when building? I like the one pictured but we would enclose one of the squares to keep them sheltered/warm during the GA winter months.

My geese don't tolerate my ducks in their area. I'm not sure if that's normal, but you may want to house them separately.

I am thinking one house for geese and then a house witht a small opening for the ducks in case they need to get away from the geese. They are brooding together and when I had them separated all they did was cry.

Looks good, Geese and Ducks generally don't do well with each other in a coop setting, gander's become very aggressive during the breeding season and can, and will severely damage or kill ducks.

Will the coop have a wooden floor? Or will it be set right on the soil? I would watch out for predators burrowing under the walls if it is on the soil. You could always trench some chicken or other wire fencing two feet deep just in case. I like a coop at least 6' so that I can enter to clean and collect eggs without hitting my head.

It will have a floor. Then the top will open to gather eggs. The run if we make one like pictured will be walk in. Have any waterer ideas for ducks/geese?

You should dig out a pit and cover it with a grate. Put your water on this so it keeps the rest of your bedding dry.

Looks like a nice little set up. Agree with the others that the geese and ducks will need to be separated, you should also be prepared to have to separate certain geese and ducks from the rest. Mating season and hormones turn any peaceful flock upside down!
