So every other week my garden was getting trashed by the goats and chickens. Not only that but my bedding was always getting wet around my coup from the rain. Wet equals smelly. So we decided to build a green house around the two add a duck/goose pond between the two. Here are some pics of it up and running with their new perches and the green house around the two. My Ebb and Flow hydro bed is barely up and going. I cut tomato clones and just stuck them in and they seem to be staying alive. I also took a eaten lettuce out of the ground and its growing new leaves already. I also planted some tomato seeds and squash seeds which are the baby plants that are started in these pics.

If you like fish you can do the same thing Eat the Tilapia you Fill it with and put your chicken perches over the water for more nutrient.

Edit is a p.s. I am not done with it all. i have allot of finishing touches such as trim and what not to hide the ugly parts/nails and such. As well as allot of painting. The plastic is also temporary as all this can be expensive. I hope to have the clear panels up by next spring.

That is so cool, looks like a big hit with the flock too.

have they tried to walk on the chicken wire? I see one standing up top, I'd be worried they may get their legs caught.

yes they do. The rouen duck is the only duck that gets up there. My chickens at least about 6 of them have always liked to sleep on top of the wire. you cant see it but on the top perch is a little 2 by 3 square right off the perch for the ones who still like it. Its like their little hammock. I have never had them get caught in it. I also seen a guy on TV who rudely only let his chickens have a pen of nothing but wire floor over his pond for fish ponics. now if these guinea hens want to start going up on the wire i would definitely start to get worried. those darn things are always getting their toes hung up on things.

lol I have never had guineas so don't know about them getting their toes caught, thats funny. Ya'll did an awesome job and looks like alot of planning, we diff. want to see what pay off you get when your garden is really growing.

Watch this video. This guy is one of the leading guys in this. He uses fish. but like i said anyone can place their perches over a pond and never have a poppy coup floor again. He also lives in Australia so its super arid and very little water there and look what he can grow. I will show pics once its going for sure. lettuce in 24 days i think and cabbage in 30 something. lots of good greens for the flock all fresh and organic every day.

I'm going to use a rocket mass heater stove to heat it in the winter as well.
