Hey everyone uh...my female african goose is going absolutly nuts (no pun intended) for acorns this year. I know that acorns can be toxic but she's been eating a ton of these things and it doesnt seem to be affecting her. Should I worry? The trees are unable to be removed and there is nowhere on my property that i can keep her without acorns. I read that Canada geese flock to acorn trees by the dozens to feast on these things. So help?

In the wild, ducks and geese survive by eating acorns. For domestic ducks and geese as long as they are in moderation they should be fine.

If you could get them to fill up on their feed more somehow, they'd eat less of them. We have a yard full of those acorns, and I have no idea how many our ducks eat, but they are locked up at night with food/water in there. So they can fill up in the morning on feed before venturing out to free range for the day.

I've also ran out there with a bowl of mash made of wet all-flock crumbles and they chow down on that mid-day.
