My dad passed away on Sunday. That's why I haven't been on here. I have 2 eggs that have pipped externally.

Now I have double crossed my fingers for you to have a good hatch. My 4 eggs are growing. I have started to mist and cool them every day now. I will give the other 2 until monday to show something, but it doesn't look promising.

I FEEL SO AWFUL I accidently killed my first 2 goslings that hatched I put them to close to the heat lamp. I hae 2 eggs that haven't hatched yet. I am such a dummy. What are your eggs doing?

. But you had 2 hatch! That is great news. I'm sorry about the heat lamp. I will have to use one too. I have a brinsea ecoglow for my chickens, but I think goslings are going to be too big. I can only use it for a few days . Have the other eggs pipped yet? How long did it take for the first 2 to hatch after the internal pip? My eggs are still looking good. There are 4 good ones and the other 2 are clear.

it's very important we use a thermometer in our brooders to keep something like this from happening . Also heat lamps can cause serious burns.

Hope the other 2 hatch.

Give the baby a stuffed animal and a mirror with safe edges for company. They really need the company of their own, maybe you can find another gosling to go with it, so sorry for your loss.

Thanks I have 2 goslings I got last week. I am going to put it in with them when it gets strong enough. I hope your four turn out well. Keep me updated.

Good luck with your goslings. At least the single will have company soon. I will have to remember the stuffed animal friend. My fear is I will only be able to hatch 1 (or none!) I found out the breed of my eggs is a mix. African and Sebastopol. Will they be a little curly? I hope so. Also will the hatch last longer? 32 days?
