Goose feather. Is it molting or something else?

Good evening I have some questions about this goose I have rescued. It was abandoned in a building left to die and I found it and took it to my place.

The concerns I have are over the feather quality and that some of the feather shafts appear to be barren of feathers.

There are also some dark spots on the goose that have not cleaned up since I have owned it for about a month. It has access to a pool and clean water where it can bathe.

I did see feather mites on it so I have spray treated for it inside its coop and on its legs as the instructions have stated too.

Thank you for your time and please let me know if you have any suggestions or something I should do right away.

extra vitamins and good feed, mites take allot out of them. white feathers do stain so when he molts it will clean that up. You may want to worm him also. So kind of you to take him on.

What do the mites look like and what did you spray with?
This is what I sprayed with.

I have also recently upon more research here got some Ivermectin Paste Dewormer and will utilize that.

Attached are some pictures ( if you can call them that.) of the mites I could manage to hold the goose long enough to get some.
Sometimes there were so many of them you could see them crawling around

Use a similar spray every time I go to a show or introduce new geese. So far never had a problem but prevention is always a pay it forward. Your worm-er will do well.
