I told Janet the other day I am afraid 2013 is going to be screwed up breeding season. May too many reports of breeding, eggs and spikes in hormones already this year. We are getting an egg every other day already from the oldest African goose.

Oh and Marty, sorry missed the brick question. We use multiple of the largest kiddie pools with NO ramps, or other help devices to get in and out. They do just fine. We have 100gal stock tanks and black molded ponds sunk in the ground as well. Everyone gets in and out just fine.
just cant believe it from a juvenile we didnt think she was old enough this year LOL

Have to share this the little juvinile buff we got from Iain named
Josephine layed her first egg this evening 158 grams (we are still in shock)

Seriously???!?!?

I'm sure he ment ruff not bust, lol

here's the picture and yes I double checked the weight

Fred's eggs were all 130 to 140 grams this year
and Dora was hatched (5-2) from a 194 gram egg with Squishy's mom laying a 180 to 200 gram eggs

Well, that is amazing! Congrats!! No eggs here yet. We went on a thorough hunt today in yards at house and on the pasture property. Only poultry laying here are 3 ducks.

Wow, thats awesome. I'm getting two kinds of duck, quail, california white eggs, and black sex link chicken eggs. Everyone else is holding out. Probobly until spring. I've never known turkeys or geese around here to produce before March or April at the earliest. Its just too dang cold until then.

Although its exciting, if she keeps laying it is concerning to me that there are so many 2012 birds laying already. 2011 was a bad year for many all over the country, I hope this isnt leading into another off year. It also has me looking at GMO's harder than I was (as if thats possible) wondering if its a contributer in all of this.
