Iain, was working today, touched base quickly earlier today. She will be back home tomorrow though. Got word her hubby was going to be taking new pictures today of the birds. :D can't wait to see them.

Sundance last update I had on the buff girl (with the broken toe) is that she was doing very well. The grey was also recovering well last I heard.

Hey guys, have some down time while I wait for return flight home from work... And thought I would check in.

CG and Julie, great to see you here and thanks for the compliments. :D

Sundance, broken toe buff is doing great as is bruised spine boy. Bumblefoot boy is still gimping, but hoping he will improve on soft ground. Cataract girl is still blind, but relaxed with the group. Can't wait to put her with my crippled girl once these guys finish quarantine.

Will post hubby's pics tomorrow. Can't wait to see them myself.

Hi Iain

I bet you will be glad to get home to your babies. I always think of you as hatch mama first, and lawyer by neccesity! LOL I admire your intersting life.

My DH is afraid of plains. He sooo wants to go see his big bro in Washing State, but we're in KS, and its a 25 hour drive. He doesn't want to drive. He's scared of plains. He's too cheap for Amtrak. I won't take the bus.

Hows he expect to get there?? Me, I'd hop on a plain every weekend if I could. Take advantage of those last minute travel deals, like I did before we got married, but not. I've been grounded for almost 5 years now. (since we started dating)

Thanks, Celtic. I will talk to you tomorrow.

Marty, thanks. My no. 1 priority in life is the care and well being of my animals. Everything from hubby (much to his complaining) to career comes after that.

I'm not a fan of planes either, even though I have to fly to get to my office, so to speak. I much prefer a good road trip.

Trying to decide on my house. Remember, on it, the wing to the Right is copied on the Left also, where here its not. Mine has two wings, this place only one. This one is very close to what my house looks like though.

REMEMEBER: MY GEESE HAVE TO LOOK AT THIS, AND SO DO i AND THE NEIGHBORS! Help me choose good. My house is like 150' back from the road, so thats why the bright colors.

Options D, E, and G get my vote with my overall preference being E: Somehow it just fits the facade of your house. Good luck choosing!

As to the NPIP discussion: I emailed my state vet about being tested the first week of June. Our local NPIP tester called the next week and I had my test date on June 23rd: I am still waiting on my official number, which the vet warned could take over a month to arrive (He said to call if it didn't arrive in 6 weeks and he would track it down for me).

The vet that did the testing was wonderful and did 100% of the ducks and geese over the age of 4 months. He decided to only do a percentage sample from my chickens, since I assume he did not want to be here all day. He said, "If one has what I am testing for, then most of them will...so a random sampling will be fine."

The testing here is free and they will come out and check new stock if you need to purchase from non-NPIP members: He will also be back next year to test the ones who were too young this go round.

Funny story, the vet said he rarely ever sees a goose during testing and that he has never seen more than two at any place he's been. When we were done and he was listing the breeds of birds he tested he stopped and raised a quizzical eyebrow when I told him my geese are Pomeranian. He said, that's a dog....and I was like....check the list, it will be there. He shook his head and laughed when he found more than one listing for them. He also said he had never seen Silver Appleyard or Runner ducks, nor Barnevelder chickens during his testing. Guess folks around here stick to more standard fare.
