Good to see you, Jerry.

here we go, had to go pull stock pictures of what we are putting in. Mostly in the breeding yards, I have other plans for more permanent ponds in the front and pasture. The varied sizes will depend on duck or goose use and which breeding yard they are going in. All will be set into the ground, no more lifting and dumping. We can pump them dry when needed, otherwise filtering as needed.

So, if anyone needs goose gendors, these folks do that.

UPDATE: Jen's two pairs are at the airport, awaiting departure in the morning back to California.

they get there safely and that Jen loves them!

On another note, assuming people do not mind my sharing Spirit's journey on this thread... I spoke with my beloved vet today for a while. He is totally on board to take aggressive surgical action for Spirit as he is personally worried about long term breakdown issues on Spirit's good leg. We have an appointment scheduled for Nov. 6th and he is also trying to get a ct scan scheduled at the University of Utah human hospital for the following week. Target date for surgery is right before Thanksgiving. Spirit (and a companion) can spend December/January recovering indoors, when we have only 8 hours of daylight and average overnight temps of 0F.

fingers crossed..... Spirit really was a gift .. .. or is it that you and Iain are a gift to Spirit

Jen, hope you are able sleep waiting for them to arrive.

Iain good luck to spirit with the up coming surgery.

Avian Biotech is still doing genetic testing on geese, I will be sticking with them since the service is familiar and their results are fast.

Good morning... things are quiet here on the farm. We are down to 44 geese total, with only 12 on the horse property. The remaining 6 rescue africans look a little lost without Jen's birds, but are sticking close to our africans. Hopefully they will completely integrate into one group soon!

Iain and I are planning to take next week off from shipping to go horse camping. The 22nd will be our final shipment with the last 11 dewlaps being sent to Celtic, Krafty & Lightning (sorry to make you wait an extra week, Celtic). Then we can finally get down to business, setting up our property to provide for 33 geese through the winter and into breeding season.

Thanks, Sue.

I'm pretty sure Spirit and I are gifts to each other. Not sure where Iain fits into that equation, except that when it comes to animals, he has always supported my decisions even if it is probably not what he would do if it were up to him.
