Goose math

Everyone here know how chicken math works. Tonight I came to the conclusion that my geese spend 80% of their time loudly honking and 90% of their time pooping. I realize this adds up to more than 100% but sometimes they multitask and do both at once.

Everyone said get geese, it is fun!!! I will stick with ducks I particularly didn't want because of the mess lol. How many do you have by the way?

I have THREE. Only three. They're Africans and I love them to death but they're SO loud. Tonight I didn't let then out to range because we were going to a family dinner and getting home late and was worried about predators. The amount of poop around the coop was horrifying.

I do feel your pain...I am trying very hard to get a nice "poop free zone" going before our family comes for Thanksgiving. What do they do?? Just plow through the temporary fencing then scream at me for even trying to take back MY deck and sidewalk

Oh my they are beautiful! I have two muscovys and one khaki. My daughter said just wait those Muscovy are going to be almost big as geese. I'm starting to worry, they are huge.

How beautiful!! You have to love the little monsters...it's just like having toddlers...never a dull moment with geese.

Just today for example...
I have some totes of Christmas decorations out on the deck, it's mostly filled with strands of lights. BB and Chance both come over, check it out, poop on them, whatever. Bring out a "Letters to Santa" mailbox decoration...they're eyeing me suspicious. Leave that on the deck with the totes.
Go around front, get busy clearing leaves and whatnot to put these decorations...all the birds are being pretty quiet. Go to check what's going on....
The 2 geese have plucked out at least 20 bulbs from this light up mailbox and spit them out all over the deck I can't even remove bulbs from the strands!! How the heck did they do that!?
So now...no "Letters to Santa" at my house.

Yeah. Free range time more often than not just results in poop on the sidewalk. We have 5 ACRES people. The geese are more than welcome to poop on 4.999 of them. The sidewalk is just super appealing I guess.
