Goose nesting in undesirable spot...

@gander007 How do the humans at the VA treat the geese? Just wondering since so many seem to hate them.

@Miss Lydia, At the VA in Loma Linda Ca, the pond goes halfway around the hospital covering the north around to the west and on to cover the south side of the hospital and yes there is always someone with a bad attitude as with most any group of people but for the most part there are benches around the VA Hospital grounds just for the patients to sit and feed or enjoy the Ducks and Geese or other wild birds that come and go , and the area is so pleasant that the hatch rate is very high with a very good survival rate that at the end of every summer there is a big round up to this out the ranks or over population happens ... The cat fish in the pond are about the only predators that get the chicks .

I just checked my photo album and I can see that I need to take some more photos of the livestock at the VA Hospital as my old photos were wiped clean with the change over .

Some of my geese were donated to me from the VA during a round up in 2007 as I did not want a dog to take care of oh and two mallard drakes that I was sure would fly of but stayed with my khaki Campbell ducks so them boys are getting a bit old now that I think about it .

I'd love to see some pics. sounds like a nice place to sit and visit.

That is a nice way to get geese and ducks have them adopted out .

My gander will be 11 April 27th so I have some older ones too.

Just an update- both geese are laying in the same nest now, and are up to 8 in their clutch!
