Goose or Gander and can you tell what breed this is?

More than likely My Embden gander mated with my Muscovy females for 5 yrs before I brought home a goose for him. It didn't cause any problems my scovy's actually encouraged him. lol And they have their own drake. No mixed geese and Muscovy's either.

Good deal! I guess I can hold off for a while then. I can take time finding mates for them IF they do turn out to be ganders. With my luck they will be :)

LOL ganders are nice to have too. They just need to learn their place in the flock and respect us as their leaders. I have found my Embden gander is very hard headed though but I have kept him with me since he was hatched here 10 yrs ago so he is a keeper.:)
How do your Muscovy drakes act towards them? My Muscovy drake and gander are arch enemies.

So far they seem to be fine. I have 4 drakes and 3 hens and they all seem to get along right now. My husband wants me to get rid of all but one drake. I hatched some eggs in the incubator this summer and so far I have 2 more drakes

Oh those drakes. Depending on ages I have found with having Muscovy's since 2004 that having more than one drake unless you can keep them separated will not work. They will fight once they become sexually active. I have had as many as 4 at one time and won't ever do that again. I have a Runner drake but my scovy drake pays no attention to him at all. If you only have 3 females you really either need more females or rehome 2 of your drakes to be fair to the females the ratio should be 3and up females to 1 drake.

It was very hard to make that decision here too I had to keep all 4 in separate areas and it just got to be too much. So I put them in our local electric news letter and found 2 great homes for my 2 youngest drakes, My old one and my drake I raised inside stayed here.

I'm going to do that today. Hopefully I can find good homes for them. They are very spoiled. I think whoever takes them will see just how gentle and loving they are.
