just wondering if anyone has ever had a problem with predators getting there geese? So far, my chickens are the cream of the crop for my predators. But, I have geese and adults ducks out there as well.

Funny you brought this up. This is the 2nd night that my geese (pilgrims) and misc. ducks are in the run that does not have an enclosed top. However, my dog is free to roam at night and I hope, keeps any predators at bay. My turkeys are roosting out on top now too. I do worry about their safety. My dog would/may get them so we try to get her in before they come off the roost in the morning.

yea, last year all we had were ducks and they free ranged and soon realized we needed a cyclone fence to keep the coyotes and fox away. Well this year we added chickens just a few down to 4, had 7. Chickens and duckling have been the only thing so far. I have 3 traps set. And I just got through checking them and found NOTHING! I was so dissappointed

I have been consumed with this varmit for 4 days now. Chickens are now completely locked up and electric fence is around my call duck pen and geese pen. If it is a raccoon, then I feel secure the fence with scare them away. But, if it is a Mink. That is going to be hard to catch. Whatever it is had to fit through a 1 " wire or stuck its arms in and pulled. This has got me stumped. Off tomorrow to get 1/4" hard cloth wire to go around 1 - 25x25 pen annd 1- 10x10. Gonna be costly but, gotta do it. Can't stand see losing anymore.

Neighbors CAT died in the act of stalking my full grown chinese goose. It was a very large cat and I was very lucky I caught it when I did. It was milliseconds from pouncing on the goose.
This was not a normal cat. It would chase my German Shepherd too.
