GOOSE PROLAPSE, BLOCKAGE??

Are there any lakes, ponds, wetlands in your area? Any wild waterfowl around the area? Have there been any HPAI outbreaks in your area?

We've had wild ducks on the property recently and Canadian Geese migrating. Our soil is clay based so it tends to stay wet. No outbreaks that I know of but a county near us tends to have bird flu in domestic flocks

Update: She passed away naturally. I'm going to get Corid today and start the flock on it and hopefully it'll help. My other goose is holding herself up in the coop alone, so I'm expecting to lose her but I hope not

If you send a bird in and it tests positive for HPAI they’ll more than likely euthanize your whole flock. If it is bird flu you may lose them anyway to the disease or there could be survivors, but that’s up to you what course of action you want to take.

Standard procedure is depopulation of a flock that tests positive to limit the spread of bird flu. This method used to be very effective, however bird flu is now almost everywhere so that method of control isn’t really effective anymore, however limiting its spread should still be taken seriously.

If you decide against necropsy I strongly advice quarantining your flock so that if it is bird flu it doesn’t spread beyond your flock and not going anywhere near anyone else’s flock, do not go near any zoos or farms, parks, anywhere you could bring the disease yourself.

I know they'll likely euthanize everyone. I'm planning on hopefully sending the body in tomorrow (if it's still there as I had no place to put her). I have the ganders separated in their coop and Ella (original sick goose) outside in our brooder by the house. Our chickens have their own separate coop.

She did attempt to eat the mesh but more like sip at it and she drank a bit of the Corid. However I noticed that she's having trouble opening her mouth fully, but almost like she doesn't have energy or her jaw hurts?

She is bobbing her head and obviously tired but I'm so worried she'll seizure and pass away. I tried syringe feeding her but she fought me so I'm hoping that's a good sign in a way. She also made her way back and forth from the coop to the house earlier today, and wanted to cuddle, had enough energy to loudly honk but I'm paranoid that might've been her saying goodbye.

That’s a good sign, she still has fight in her!
