Just finished putting in my 2 ~ 300 gallon ponds & now am doing the landscaping! I was wondering what types of plants/trees/shrubs/bushes are FRIENDLY & the geese won't demolish

Please don't mind the clutter THESE pics are "under contruction"

First off let me say WOW that is a awesome set up

I have been told that any plant that is deer/rabbit proof is going to be duck/goose proff I dont know if that is 100% true but I thought it might help, hopefully someone elce will come along and give you better info

Just be careful -- geese are good at eating stuff they aren't supposed to . . . I do know they aren't fond of thistles, but I'm sure you don't want those in your landscaping!

Mine chewed on the little firs and cedars in our Christmas tree lot, so they can't be pastured in there any more . . . even if they don't eat the tree, they certainly could chew on it and then drop the pieces . . . they are like puppies!

And that is a beautiful set up!

I did one above ground & one in ground first

But I found I liked the below ground better. I know the Mugo Pines work well & have survived & are evergreens which I love!

Wow!! They look amazing!! My geese really haven't done any harm to established trees. Its the ones that are at their height level that they like playing with.

I just use a sump pump, takes about 10 minutes to drain. So about 20 minutes per pond to drain & clean. But most is just sitting back & waiting to drain & then filling it of course
