So guys, here is my finished goose run where my two toulouse will be roaming around during the day (boy will I be glad to get my living room space back!)

It's got a tarp to cover from the rain and harsh sun but I was also thinking I might want a small solid structure where they can go in harsh weather and I've seen these two items and I'm just looking for opinions on if they would be appropriate please? They won't be locked in these at night because the run itself locks but I just want to know they have somewhere warm and dry if they choose to use it

I was just thinking they'd go outside if they wanted to stretch their wings? Like i say, the run it'self is their main living area that's secure from predators and the coop would just be somewhere warm to hide from harsh weather.

The first one is 28" high and the second one is just short of a metre. The removable tray from the second one is attracting me for ease of cleaning

My geese love exploring “caves and tunnels,” getting them to shelter in them isn’t always so easy.
My first girls loved their old dog igloo during nesting season, but I’ve ended up having to keep everyone in their bed time cages which are fully roofed dog kennels during stormy days because the geese stood out in the rain in the big pen “a huge dog run” during storms rather than stand in the dry shed. I think the sound of rain on the roof bothered them, maybe they think the sound is a raccoon I once found in there.

I have one gander “Leo” who likes to sleep in a dog travel cage I keep in the bedtime kennel for him, he started sleeping in the old doggloo after both his mates were killed by a coyote year’s ago, they had recently been sitting on eggs in it and ever since he prefers to sleep in little “caves” including his current cave, the travel cage, I think it makes him feel closer to them. I have a female goose Apricot who tends to like sleeping in a travel cage too, I’m not really sure why.

Other than them the rest do not like staying in a confined space for long so the best advice I can give is to let them have one dog house or travel cage incase they want to use it but when storm season comes get extra tarps to cover the whole cage.

Thank you goosebaby, very helpful...I actually went with a dog kennel with a high roof in the end, it's got a removable floor and also the roof opens up on hinges so really easy to clean out.

I feel so sorry for poor Leo, both his wives murdered by a house intruder and now he has agoraphobia and PTSD 😭😭😭

Yeah it took him a long time to recover, it took a long time for everyone, his babies are what pulled him out of his depression and gave him purpose, he’s happy again but his personality hasn’t quite been the same since.
