goose warts!!

so... is it normal/healthy/possible for my geese to have warts? i have four young geese -- 6 months old -- no idea the genders yet. (would love some tips on how to tell!) and it seems that they are getting warts. a couple on their various feet and legs, and i also spotted two on beaks. what's up?? is that normal?? should i be worried?

I have never heard of goose warts, but I'm still new to this whole goose owning adventure! I'm curious to know now!

Can you post pics? I've never heard of warts on geese, wonder if it's some kind of fungus? Need info on how you keep them also feed ,sleeping quarters, where you live in this big wide world, not street add just general. lol Hot humid climate?

I'll try to get pics today. they have a little hut for nighttime, with a pallet floor that I rinse off every couple days. during the day they are free-range on the property, including a small pond. they get some of the cow's and chickens' grain, but their diet is mainly whatever they can find.

Could be some kind of fungus but get some pics and hopefully some of our most expert geese owners will also take a look. I was born in Fl so I know some strange things can grow there even of living things.

Is these "warts" on all of them? I looked up goose diseases and didn't see anything there but I wonder if you might ought to do a round of antibiotics on them all, you can also try using Apple Cider vinegar in their drinking water till you decide if you want to do the antibiotics. A vet would probably do a scraping to see if there is infection or other possibilities. I know vet care isn't always feasible though. Do you lock them up at night? just wondering if after they have had their last feed and water for the day if you couldn't spray something like Veterycin on their faces and feet and legs where ever these are. Veterycin is for wounds and infections , Very safe to use on the face/eyes.In Their pond is water stagnant? fresh water pond? bacteria lives in water. I don't want to unnecessarily worry you but if they were mine I'd be concerned. If you try the ACV got with 2-3 Tab to 1 gallon of water they will wash their faces in it and also drink it.

I've asked casportpony to look she is really good with diseases and meds.

I can definitely add some ACV to their water. we also occasionally use oregano oil in their water. I can dose them with antibiotics if needed, but I'd rather not unless we determine it would be helpful.

As for a goose vet. HA. there are barely enough vets for pets around here, and absolutely no one who treats small farm animals.

Peanut has the "warts" on her bill, and one on the webbing of her foot. Emmy also has one on her foot. The other two don't seem to have any. yet?

It's a fresh water pond, but stagnant, yes. heaven only knows what kind of atrocious bacteria are in it.

I just remembered that a little while ago -- several weeks -- Peanut had a swelling around the top of her eye for a few days. I sprayed it with PoultryAid, and eventually it went down again.

Also, my chickens had fowl pox several months ago. Could it be that?

My first guess would be pox, but I've never seen pox in waterfowl, so check it out.
