Hi I have a goose that started sitting on 8 eggs about 33 days ago. She is an American Buff and has succefully hatched 2 goslings as of Friday. They are doing very well, eating the food and water I have placed for them in the coop. They are staying close to mom but she is still sitting on the other six eggs. I was hoping more would hatch, but it is Monday now and she is still sitting on the other 6 eggs. She is very protective and my gander is standing guard as well making it impossible to check the eggs without getting flogged to death. Everything I have read says the others should have hatched by now if they are going to and that mom should have left the best by now. Does anyone have experience with this? Could the other eggs still hatch? Maybe mom isn't worried about the 2 goslings because they have food and water avalible by the nest. This is her first time sitting and my first time hatching so I'm not sure what to do. Please help!

I think folks on the "Goose thread," would be best for answering your questions. Just put that in the search box and it will come up.

I have had geese stay a lot longer then that on some eggs and get a hatch and still have some duds so just let her have her way and don't let her goslings go to far
