That you all for the kind words. Today was very exciting….we completed putting up all the truses and sheeted the roof. I have to say, I am a wimp when it comes to keeping up with DH. By the end of the evening my ankles where swollen, and feet where burning. But it was worth it!! My girls (chicks) will have such a wonderful home. At one point when we noticed the roofline was taller then our garage DH said, “I think I might have over built it”. But we decided nope…these chickens deserve it. It was to dark tonight when we finished to take the pics of this next step (sheeting the roof) that we did today, but first thing tomorrow I will add pics of that.

You know what. I LOVE the spaciousness of the interior ceiling! If I build another coop someday, I think I'll do the same gambrel roof design. Keep posting pics. I have the feeling this is going to be very nice!!!

We have been talking about insulating. Dont think we are going to. Do you think the girls will need it in the wintertime?? We are going to use the deep litter method on the floor and my understanding is that works as insulation on the floor. Most of the coop is going to have windows...every wall will have at least 3 windows, except the one facing the pump house. Any ideas?
