Gorgeous Chicken! How?!

This is not my photo, but I ran upon it. It’s the most beautiful hen I ever saw. I wanted to breed my rooster with a polish gal. Well, this picture is a Silkie x Polish. I really want to make one like her, but how? She is so beautiful.

Looks like a Cochin/Silkie cross to me. I bet the Cochin gene for normal feathering overwrote the silkie gene, so it has the crest, skin, foot feathers and comb of a silkie but without the silkieness.

I disagree... that crest looks way more Polish than Silkie. The skin color and prolific leg feathering however, are Silkie. I have no idea what colors were crossed to make this pretty hen!

Start crossing and see what you get. Oh, and we will need pics!

I agree with this. Definitely looks like a Cochin/Silkie.

According to the original poster on Reddit her name is Frog and she's a polish x silkie. Dad was a grey (silver partridge) Silkie and her mum was either a buff or buff-laced polish

A silver partridge male is silver based and would only produce silver based pullets. That pullet is gold based. She couldn't have can from a silver partridge father.
Not saying owner isn't claiming that but that they must be confused somewhere.

I never saw a smooth feathered chicken have such a perfect crest. I had a Cochin x Polish/Silkie? (I didn’t know which one). She started off with a little crest. Then, it started to fill in later when she grew up.

Couldn’t the buff switch the colors of the silver? I had a white laced Brahma (Girl) mate with a solid orange rooster. She never had any children and she was 3 years old. When she turned 4 years old, last year. She had her first child. Now, their child is solid orange with her lacing.
