Gorgeous Chicken! How?!

Couldn’t the buff switch the colors of the silver? I had a white laced Brahma (Girl) mate with a solid orange rooster. She never had any children and she was 3 years old. When she turned 4 years old, last year. She had her first child. Now, their child is solid orange with her lacing.
Nope. Silver/gold is sex linked so females only carry one gene for it and it comes from their father.
So a silver based rooster will produce silver based females no matter what the hen is.

The most wonderful thing about cross bred chickens in my humble opinion, is that you rarely get two alike. Good luck though, I hope you can get a similar looking hen.

That is so true. I hatched out 4 chicks from a Buff Cochin and a OEGB/Wyandotte Bantam (Blue).
1st Child- Very light blue with barred.
2nd Child- Solid Blue with orange neck feathers.
3rd Child- Black with barred
4th Child - Solid Black.

The Girl is the only one with feathered feet that is full.
I’m excited to see what they will produce.

So you breed a buff bird to a blue bird neither being barred but hatched two barred chicks?
