Gosling attacking me

Hi everyone,

We live on a lake and feed a family of geese with two goslings. They always come up for food and run up to me. Recently, one of the goslings has started attacking my shoes. Is this normal? Is he scared? He runs up to me to do it!

My hand-reared goslings love to noodle my shoes (usually Crocs with the holes in them). Does the gosling seem aggressive or just curious? It may just be that he likes your shoes.

It seems playful. He occasionally hisses. It all started when they learnt how to hiss so I think it may just be practice/play? He does it to any shoes.

My boys love attacking my slippers and can be a pain in the butt when I put my boots on in a morning (I have to keep them away from the laces while i tie them)

They're not aggressive any other time so I think it's just something they find fun to play with
