Gosling - Is this an Embden?

She's so cute and I'm so happy you took her! I can't believe that someone would just throw her mother's other egg away. What a waste of life. Did you decide yet if you were going to maybe go get her mother?
I can understand , in a certain way its a good thing. What seems like a waste of life to you is saving non migratory geese that might not fly well from a life of misery. Most lakes and ponds have decent sized turtle population. I have seen momma geese with their goslings on the water just to see one getting pulled under. Taking away their eggs or shaking them to render them unfertile is no different than catch, spay and release of feral cat population. A body of water can on sustain a certain amount of fowl . But if we can give a abondened domestic bird or egg a home its great as long as we have plans for the future of the animal.

Truth....but so hard to follow sometimes. It's probably a very good thing this doesn't happen where I live. I would be very hard pressed to walk away from domestic birds abandoned.

I know there at near by freeman lake is a population of feral ducks and geese. id love to get some but I can't yet. Just one more year. Should we ever go down to Key West I will bring some key chicks home and start a flock in Kentucky.

Yeah you're right. I rather have them never hatch than live a life of suffering. But this baby won't suffer! I took three duck egs too and guess who all hatched?

They're mallardxdomestic crosses. Look who hatched yellow. Guess I picked the right egg, lol.
When these cuties grow up, my Ling duck will have some friends of her species finally.

Gosling too! Everyone will have each other, no one is going to be lonely

Sorry for the me, I try not to be in these.
