My wonderful wife, knowing i wanted geese, recently gifted me 7 goslings: 3 Embdens, 3 Pilgrims & 1 “surprise” we figured out to be a Tufted Buff. I love them all, but we’re a bit confused by their sizes - its been a couple weeks and the Pilgrims are very clearly Pilgrims (the girl is a dark grey while the boys are fluffy & white), but they seem to be MUCH larger than the other 4. The Embdens are about the same size as the Tufted Buff!

I couldn’t find anything about this on-line or in our poultry books. Is this normal? I wondered if maybe the Pilgrims just grow faster...

My month old Pilgrims are huge...but I don't have a basis for comparison because I only raise Pilgrims. 😁

Can you post a pic of them together? And your wife rocks!
It’s true! She’s a marvel!
(EDIT: and she got herself 6+ Sebastopol eggs for Mother’s Day! 😹)

Here are two pics. It’s been hard because they move around so much and love playing together. I moved the three Embdens into their own brooder anticipating they’d grow more than they have. Now my Tufted Buff AND Pilgrims are all bigger than those Embdens... The ones in the foreground are the Pilgrims, the one in the back is one of the Embdens.
