Gosling w/No eyes

I hope you know how many people are rooting for you and your little one...and are willing to help and support, as we can. Stay strong!

Hmm...I recall that at least one gosling I raised seemed to make a "clicking" kind of sound when I held her, and it turned out to be nothing of concern. Does he have any discharge from his eyes or nares? If respiratory in nature, I'd expect to see something like that. Could you try to capture it on video and post here?

Can you describe why he seems cold (his behavior)? The more detail you can provide, the better. 🕵️‍♀️

I have taken to calling him Little Niblet and tonight we discovered the soggy crumbles of food and it was ON! I’m not sure if he got more in him or on him, not to mention all over me and the porch too. Lol

niblet doesn’t seem to like any kind of surface EXCEPT grass... and got to hopping and pulling on grass, and when one of the pair of Chinese geese came to investigate, he responded by going toward them, which was unexpected.

I did take a couple videos and still hear the clicking but not as pronounced as before.

thanks to everyone... I was starting to feel like I was alone in this, and now, not so much... it won’t let me attach the videos... but I’ll try to get some better ones tomorrow because I have to get pens clean and am going to put theirs in the grass... :)

Go, Little Niblet!! :ya

It is with great sadness I type this message, as the Little Niblet is no longer with us... I’m terribly sorry and am so sad just now. I’m at a loss at what to say.. Thank you all for your kind words and advice. Goodbye Little Niblet.

I don’t think I did enough for him... but I also think there was more wrong than just his eyes... he still couldn’t stand on his own and I never found him right side up—always on his back, flailing his little feet. he didn’t seem to have any balance, possible crooked neck... perhaps it’s a blessing, because I certainly would not want him to suffer. He was eating and drinking but still so, so tiny compared to the other 2... perhaps I’m trying to justify . I dunno...

You went above and beyond for him. It definitely seems like his eyes were the tip of the iceberg. Sometimes it’s comforting when nature makes the decision for us.
