Gosling with Leg Issues

Sorry you lost some goslings.  Niacin deficiency seems to be a common problem.  You could also try peas and romaine lettuce, as these things have a good amount of niacin in them.  Limping is just a symptom of niacin deficiency, the deficiency  itself affects their general growth and development.   How long ago did all this happen?  How old are they now?

Thanks for your reply Livininbrazil.
I lost my last gosling just 2 days ago. They were 11 weeks old.
The other two goslings look ok. I often feed them Romaine lettuce as I grow that in my garden, they love it. I will start adding pease as well. Will try to do all it takes to help them grow healthy. I haven't raised geese before and dont know how big they should be at 11 weeks!
My profile picture shows the first gosling at 7 weeks; it was limpy back then; but always cute. How I miss her, I lost her 3 days ago:(

Here is a couple of pictures I took this morning for my goslings with their parents.
Any idea of what breed they are?

Beautiful geese! Is the pied the gander? In the pic it looks like it could be. If so, then they´ll be a mix due to the pied´s colouring as it´s not quite a saddleback, but love those geese! I have some mixed-breeds too, I think they´re beautiful. If not, and the white one is the gander, then it gets more interesting. Just looking at the babies, I´d guess the white is the gander...
As regards losing babies, last year was the first year I lost goslings. I didn´t know about niacin deficiency, and up to that point I´d no problems. Then last year I lost 4 babies one after another, one at a month old, the others a little younger. I didn´t notice that they were getting thin, as they were free-ranging, and then they started to get weak, then had what looked like fits, and died. Then I came on these threads and found out what the problem was, and was told to try niacin, even though mine are free-ranging and have all the grass they could want. I didn´t lose any more. I had 19 goslings after that, and they´re big and strong and noisey! So, I now add brewers´yeast to their food every other day or so to keep them well until they get bigger, like 2 months, then they should be ok, but sometimes it can affect adults too, so you have to keep an eye on them. I bought in a couple of adult females a while back, and one of them just started sitting about, so I dose her and she was fine again. Their basic needs are: loads of greens, ideally grass, and niacin, especially in veg form, and calcium when the females are laying.

Thank you Livininbrazil. Your profile picture shows a cute couple too. They almost look the same breed as mine!
The pied in the picture is the gander. I got those parents a year ago, they were still immature; and I wasnt able to tell which one is the goose and which is the gander until I started hearing the gander scream at mating!
So I guess I must wait to know the babies' gender. I just keep praying for them to grow up strong and healthy.
My mother goose havent yet laid any eggs after her hatch in March. Is that normal? I wish she starts soon!

They´ll most likely just raise these goslings. That´s natural for them. If they lose their goslings, then they´ll often brood a second nest, but while they have goslings, they´ll look after them. Next year will bring you more.
