My Toulouse gosling was one week old this past Monday. Tonight will be her first night outside. I am so nervous. I just went outside and "tucked her in". I have a red heat bulb , 250 watts I think, and there is hay for her to sleep in. The cage it up on legs so that it is about 5 feet in the air and has 1 inch chicken wire all over the sides.

Here is a picture of her the day she hatched.

Here she is the day after she hatched.

I hope she will be okay.

Oh yes, I can completely relate to your anxiety. I still worry and all of mine have been outside for over 3 weeks.

Crossing fingers for your little one to have a good night.

Well, I checked on her when I got up and she is perfectly fine. She looks happy. It rained last night so before I went to bed I draped an extra tarp over the cage to keep the heat in and also the rain out. I am so relieved that she is fine.

Good news! Now you can breath a little easier! I started locking my giant toulouse back up again during the day - they are 3.5 weeks now - because the dog almost got one!!

Her little neck was all dripping with water! I checked each dog and sure enough - there was Ollie - my giant schnauzer- with a dripping beard - could've killed him!

The same day - not 20 minutes later- one of the donkeys thought my black runner (6 weeks) would make a nice football. Thankfully her punting skills are lacking and the duck got away.

At any rate - the little geese are locked up again....I'm a mess thinking about all these babies!.
