After you said that I went back to look at the first pics of Moose.

...and then the latest...

How did this happen in 4 weeks? What happened to my baby Moose?

He´s enormous. Your tiny one that you´re waiting for will look so small. You´ll have to keep an eye on him, make sure he doesn´t bully the little one...it can happen in the first few days......or put one huge foot on it and squash it!! But after a while they´ll be fine together. When is the egg due? Another week?

I know! They will be kept separate until I'm happy they are OK and just let out for play dates.
"Eggy" is due on the 30th but Moose was 3 days early so I will be keeping a look out!

Thank you RURU. This is my first attempt at geese, and I have a dozen eggs in the incubators, which are fertile, but I'd like to let the girls raise a clutch each. Just debating at what point I should let them keep their eggs. They are Am Buffs and are first year geese with older ganders. One pen has a trio and the other has a pair. I have requests for goslings, so would like to hatch as many as possible without over taxing my females. They are getting oyster shell, as do all my laying birds.

wont be long and he'll hit that teenage "ugly" stage... 1/2 down and 1/2 pinfeathers

Ok tomorrow is lockdown for two of my eggs !
I candled them and one is moving normally and one cant wait to get out!

my girls lay an average of 40 each if I take all the eggs... if that helps you decide.

Ok candled my eggs again! And it seems that one egg has a blood ring but not sure yet we will see :/ why does a blood ring develop?!

My mistake. On checking, Moose hatched day 28. I set this current batch on 28th Feb. So 30th is day 30.

My earliest gosling out of the egg itself was 30 :/ but had a premature gosling at 29 last year and thank you miss lydia!
