you can make a gruel put it in a syringe minus the needle and very gnetly and a tiny dab at a time put it right inside his mouth. also the Nutri Drench can be done this way. Sorry to hear about WasabiSadly I don't! I definitely thought of that, plus I don't want him to grow up alone. I am going to keep looking but for now, there is no one near me (I live in the sticks, on an island) with young baby birds.
I even showed him to my adult goose today, hoping she might take an interest, but she totally ignored him.
I am unsure if MM will refund me since Wasabi died six days after she arrived. I think their guarantee only is for the first 48 hours. But I mean, these were Sebastopols... they weren't cheap. $171 for the pair (including all the small order fees and such)
Do you think they could've gotten sick from something? I have a lot of animals around here (though all are healthy). Is there any illness that causes anorexia like this? They have refused to eat and been unsteady on their feet from the moment they arrived, from the moment I opened the shipping box.
As of right now Sashimi is the picture of health other than the fact that he *has not grown* (and we all know that normally in a week goslings have visibly grown). But he is active, oh so very active. I have been sitting with him all day, begging him to eat.
Aww I hope your lil one makes it.Feel for you on this. We have 4 Embdens hatched out of six eggs, sincle last Thursday, two had to be assisted, one of which is really struggling. Very sleepy and compared to the other three going backwards fast, will take water but barely eating. Have noted the other comments and will take on board. A cracking site and thanks for sharing all of your advice.
