So all of my goslings survived their cold rainy night a couple of weeks ago. I noticed yesterday that one of them had some blood behind its wing. Today there are 4 of them that are covered in wounds. It looks like feathers are being pulled out. I have never seen them fight, and I spend a lot of time with them. The only thing I can think of is either they are preening too roughly or they are fighting after I lock them up for the night. Thoughts?

They might be chewing on each other. I had a gosling last year that would chew on her brooder mates every chance she got, for reasons unknown. You'll probably want to watch them and see if you can identify the culprit, or see if it's more than one doing it, etc.

You might also want to offer other things to play with and chew on to distract the perpetrator and hopefully redirect the behavior.

Ive been sitting by them pretty consistently and I have never seen them bite or any sort of aggressive behavior towards each other (they chase my ducks and chickens around when I let them out though)

The one thing I have seen though is that they are preening quite frequently. Actually thats gotta be it. Im standing next to them and the ones with the biggest wounds are just preening the heck out of themselves. Would that be a boredom thing? They have two balls and two dogs toys that they just ignore.
They have a pretty nice 30x30 run, that i move to fresh grass daily, but if they arent eating they are sitting and preening.
