Goslings!!!

The fourth one is still hatching. The others hatched fairly quickly from what I have heard about geese but this one is a sleeper....yawn.....

The last gosling is out. So far I dont like the looks of it, BUT I have to remember, he/she had a very exhausting time hatching. I am keeping my fingers crossed the little one makes it.

The other three are doing great.

I really don't know about the size difference, are they all the same breed? If they are, I would think the males would be bigger than the females eventually, but I'm no expert. I only have one gosling right now

There are two Emden and two Toulouse.(The Chinese are due later!)
I might have a chance to get a couple more goose eggs. I hope, I hope...

Good luck! It's getting late in the season for them. My eggs are embdens, which I'm not too fond of. But they were more or less freebies, from the May swap, and I got what I wanted (goose eggs). So far, so good, they have been set for about a week, and last night's candling revealed at least 4 of the 6 with little swimmers in them!!

Yeah, the person I MIGHT be able to get a couple from is here in Minnesota and says her geese are still laying now and then.
Congrats on your eggs!!!
When I got mine I was almost setting myself up for failure because everyone said how touchy shipped goose eggs were. I was completely surprised!
Now watch, now that I am somewhat confident, the Chinese wont hatch at all!

Don't think like that!!

It really depends on how they were shipped, imo. I had gotten 2 eggs from vicki2x2, both of the eggs arrived in perfect shape, no goofy air cells or anything. They both made it all the way to hatch day, and one hatched. The other had pipped the air cell and died, but it had pipped early, I was still turning them when it did! I totally believe that is the reason it didn't hatch. I had also gotten some eggs from another BYC member, those eggs had 3 of 4 with moving air cells upon arrival. None of them made it past the first week, if at all.

Now the eggs I have now, all 6 of them made it okay, there are a couple with 'stretched out' air cells, but none are broken. So I'm hoping that they will do all right!!
