Got any ideas???¿¿¿???

I had a silver laced wyandotte hen that laid pink eggs, so just because a hen lays pink(ish) eggs does not mean she is an EE. Just saying....

I'm not disputing your word on the SLW. After all the eggs that are labeled "pink" are just an off shade of brown anyone and an SLW certainly might lay an egg that shade (if you say yours did, I'm sure it did), but I've had numerous EEs and SLWs over the years and I would not have called any of my SLW eggs pink, but I've had some EE eggs that I would definitely label pink. Just saying. . .)

What makes you so sure its an easter egger? We can't tell if it has a pea comb or a beard/muffs and it doesn't have slate/blue/green legs and it doesn't lay green/blue eggs, it lays pink (which some other breeds can sometimes lay). All of these are the biggest attributes of an easter egger - even if it is a mutt. I guess what I'm trying to say is... If it is an EE than its pretty far from what we all recognize as an EE. Can we at least agree on that?

Whatever breed she is, you need to separate her from that rooster. I'm okay with hens being a little bare backed, but that poor bird looks horrible. She needs to be pulled from the rooster and given some high protein feed to help her repair all those feathers. Poor thing.

Yea I know she needs to be separated I just need to make room for her in a cage should i put another hen in with her or just leave her alone?

Personally, I would get rid of the rooster or separate him from the flock if he's responsible. He'll probably just do the same thing to another hen (or several). I would hate for him to injure one of your hens.

I say get rid of the rooster. If you really want a rooster, look for another with a better temperament. I was lucky that my rooster doesn't overmate the girls so I know that roosters exist. Also make sure you have a good ratio of 10 hens per rooster.

Too many combinations of characteristics make it highly probable that it's an Easter Egger. First, the fact that it was sold as an Ameraucana and Easter Eggers are often frequently and incorrectly marketed as Ameraucanas, secondly its clearly a hybrid which EEs are, third it has a funky looking comb which is very common from the EEs pea combed parent, fourth its feather coloration is consistent with many EEs (or at least what feathers it has left), and fifth the fact that it lays pink eggs (and yes sometimes another breed may lay a pinkish egg, but it is far more common with EEs than with any breed). If only one or two of these things characterized this bird it might just be a mixed breed (barn yard mutt), but with five of these characteristics, the odds of it being an EE are very high. Is it possible that it is not an EE? Yes, but it would be an amazing set of co-incidents for it not to be.

Hey y'all just doing a progress report on Mia we separated her and she's looking a lot better so a couple more weeks of separation I think so you guys thought she was a possible Easter egger do you still think that's what she is?
