one of my qeustions:

okay my coop is 100 square feet inside (10 by 10)
and the run is 150 square feet (10 by 15)

i have
5 white laced red cornish bantam pullets
1 white laced red cornish batam cockeral
3 10 week old silkie bantam pullets
1 rhode island red pullet
and 5 ready to lay hens coming on the end of september

do you think that i could have a breeding pair of ducks in my coop and run without a pond?
or should i just stick with the chickens?

Just stick with the chickens.

Ducks do best with water. In fact, if ducks are ever without water, they die because they need to rinse out their nostrils. Or so the duck people(on BYC) tell me....so that means if the waterer tips over or runs out, you've got a problem.

Not to mention that it's only natural for them to dive and swim...

yes i thought it wouldent be a good idea as i know the ducks would naturally go in the water
i will just stick with my chickens and build a bigger coop and run next season
thanks every one!
