The bator bugs already got me. I've got one borrowed that will hold 48 eggs. I'm going to pick up the eggs this weekend. I'd say divorce papers should arrive by the first of next week! lol

I was bit a long time ago, I was about 4. Let's see I am 50...something. It apparently eventually effects your mind.

lol I know the feeling.... I started out with 3 bantams, then got 3 reds. Took a break then started up about a year ago again. Now I got about 30 something in the brooder and 7 full grown outside.

Also got a dozen eggs from those outside waiting to go in the bator, or sold lol.

Hey, DH might get as hooked as you are. Mine likes the chickens okay, but he loves building things and messing with gadgets. If yours is that way, make the bator his project.

I'm so excited. I got a call last night that my son gets to join the 4-H chicken project. 25 fuzzy butts on their way next month. I did this project when I was his age and am looking more forward to it now than he is. My wife is about to stoke out. I guess I shouldn't have told her they would have to stay in the house til they were old enough. Got to have some fun with her, she'll be happy to know they will be fine in the chicken house. The 5 RIRs I already have are growing so fast. I've been letting them roam outside their brooder as they are the only ones in the chicken house and its warm in there. They have a ball. Their was a little bug came across the floor last night and they went crazy. They are so funny. I'm going to try and find a camera this weekend as I want to post some pics of my babies.

Welcome! I know what you mean by the chicken bug... it bites a lot of people. I was surprised too when I realized chickens actually have their own personalities!
Good luck and like a lot of people say here, if you think your coop is big enough, make it bigger!!!
