Coop was tough to move. Laying on it's back it was 6'3 and we had to go under some of the old fashioned 3 inch round pipe clotheslines then add it weighing in at 700lbsish. Have about 3 inches to spare and really took skin off the hands with it.

But once we got it there the task was to take what ever lumber and left over decking materials I had here from when we build our deck. Was built out of milk jug materials and wood.

So run is 90% attached and still have the roof, a corner to secure because of the 10 degree pitch of my backyard and some supports to put on. Wrap the lilac tree that is in there they hardware cloth the rest of the top where there is no roof.

Long day today and sure to be just as long tomorrow to finish it up.

Last but not least you can see 2 of my 10 girls wasted no time trying out their 4 week old wings to get to the top of part of the run. The other 8 just happy to dig dirt, cool off and dust bathe.

I built a coop like that design, and I am working on the run now. The run is all framed up, and I just need to add the metal roof, and hardware cloth. I will post a picture if you are interested in seeing it.

Here are the pictures:

Very nice. If I only had a flat yard I would have gotten crazy like that.

I ended up ripping 2 x 4 x 8 in half for the framing. I have a lot of extra sheet metal roofing that is about 3 x 3. I figured I would dig a trench and bury that about 18 inches and they 18 inches up the run as well.

I am trying to figure out how I can tie of any entry from the lilac tree cuz the girls love it. Cool all the time. Ground is clay so when they get it dug up it is like powder.

I would like to see it when it is finished. I will never move a full size coop that I have again. I will make it in place.

Also, what did you do to the corners? Is that an vent you can open?

Well, it's not as flat as it looks. I had to come in with a trailer load of fill dirt for the run. I also used cement blocks and gravel. I hated every minute of it!!!! These pictures really do not do justice to all the laying out I did before I ever put down the 4x4 sill. It's what you can't see under ground that was a lot of work. It really sucked! Did you have your cooped delivered? Would they move it for you?

I understand. My coop was delivered. The drove back to my back yard about 50 yards to where I wanted it. That was as far back as the truck could get. They wanted an additional $300 to move. Told them thanks but no thanks. I can move the rest.

Same would be with fill. Lots of trips with the wheel barrel. So I did what I could. The majority was a 10 degree pitch and a couple spots dipped over 30 in the back that you can really see and the very front corner.

Thanks. Well looking inside the run you see all the 4 x 4's under the door.

Those are only there until I get more hardware cloth as I ran out and can not cover the bottom. I know I have one coon for sure as I missed him with the gun the other night. I shot his shadow and not him. FUDGE.

It is basically raised in one corner with a 4x4 and a 2 x 4 and on the opposite corner a 2 x 4. It is off less then 1/4 of a bubble on the lever.

Did you see my question about the corners on your coop? Are they vents or additional ventilation for summer? I door really like yours? How many birds do you plan on having? I have 10 and there are 2, 7 ft long roosts in there if you go out to the gallery I have I you will see my to extra large chicks playing inside.

They are wooden latches that hold open the lids. They swing down over the lid to kepp them upright.

I salvaged the door from a friend of mine. I trimmed it out to keep the panels. It works great.

I have 8 birds in there. The dimensions are like 8" long and 6' wide. Height to the peak is over 7'.

I have one long roost board, spanning the 8' length.

My pop door is controlled from the outside with the rope that can be seen.
