got court tommorrow ugh *UPDATE*

I'd suggest posting no tresspassing signs at the edge of the property.

Cops and enforcers will take kindly to that and make an attempt to try to find someone before they step foot on the property.

I'd also look into some motion capture cameras that prove they were there, and LOCK the gate. Even if its a chain & lock, they can't and SHOULD NOT enter the yard without your permission.

I'd lose it if they did this to my yard.

I'm glad you're looking at every moment as an educational opportunity. Because that's what we chicken people have to do, over and over, and educate people about how great chickens can be! Educate educate educate. Maybe bring some nice eggs to the magistrate man.

lol ya im hoping all is good at the end of the day people really need to know that these arnt just livestock which they all look at chickens as being livestock and i look at them as being pets or family like children i never had or will have lol

oh im with you on that one i just cant believe that they would even begin to think its ok to unlock my gate remove the stick from the top extra hold and just walk back there to my babies the person who did this will learn there are boundrys they cant cross

Several issues here. One is trespass--not going to address that--amyparrot already gave good advice.

Another is whose responsibility it is to know the law. And that is YOURS. It is not code enforcement or the police's responsibility to tell you the law--it is your responsibility to seek the information.

I love chickens, and I appreciate that they can and do exist well in towns and cities. However, if the place you live does not allow them, and you want them, then you need to pursue a legal means of achieving your goal, not get upset and angry when code is enforced.

I don't know the whole story, but from what you have said and how, I sense a whole lot of attitude that will get you nowhere.

i dont like to think of it as attitude i like to think of it as bulit up stress and lack of comunication on there part i do know that breaking the laws are wrong but florida has some pretty dumb laws like one for example can not eat cottage cheese after 6 on sundays why is this so wrong? a woman may be fined and the salon owner as well for falling asleep under a hair dryer. a woman cannot parachute without being married. you cant sing in public while in your bathing suit. theft of a horse is hanging. now tell me why are these stupid laws were made? its because they can be. im not trying to be rude but whats the point of making a rule that really has no meaning what so ever and is harmless well the horse thing is just way blown out of perportion but any ways im just scared that my babies are gonna have to leave me when the people who built the house said it was ok to have them but what ever happens happens for a reason
