Eggs will keep for a few days round here (where it's pretty hot) but if you want them to stay fresh for longer, put them in the fridge.

For us, we've kept them up to two or three weeks. However, in colder places they can last up to six weeks.

congratulations on your first eggs. i will be so excited when i get my first. i have such pretty, smart girls i just know they'll give me the best eggs ever. lol
i just wish i knew what kind my 5 new chicks are. the lady sold them to me as buff orp & black austr. they are neither, i just don't know what they are. i've looked in the breed section trying to compare them to pictures. my best guess on two is they are maybe gold star. the other three are just up in the air right now as far as breed is concerned. so who know is they'll lay eggs well or not.
oh well, they're lovely just the same.
