I have seen them breeding, so hope its fertile. I will be incubating the eggs, so any words of wisdom or advise would be great.

I have never incubated peafowl. I regularly incubate chickens and have also done ducks & geese.
I wanted to put them under a broody hen but the only broody I have right now is a tiny bantam.

I don't think a bantam could sit on too many pea eggs! I bet the egg is as big as her body. I can't give you any words of wisdom on hatching peafowl because I am on my first ever batch. I put a dozen in my Dickey's incubator about 2 weeks ago and 10 are growing. I hope to have a good hatch and good luck to you.

Hi Beth,

Soooo exciting. Lately I have been wanting a pair of peafowl, but I don't have the right accommodations for them. I do have chicken though.....

So keep sharing your peafowl stories so I can enjoy them through you! haha

I would love to see a picture of a peafowl egg next to a chicken egg, so I can see how large they are....

Take care,
Sharon

If you can hatch duck eggs you should be able to out peafowl eggs, I have never been lucky with duck hatching. Just remember peafowl are not like chickens and a lot of the eggs will not be fertile that is another reason us breeders gather eggs so the hen will keep laying, It is pretty cool

when you hatch your first peachick.

GOOD LUCK... I hope ALL your eggs are fertile and hatch..

2 years ago we set 175 peafowl eggs hatched 60 chicks.........

A breeder friend set (I think he told me) 1500 eggs hatched 400 plus.

Nope, she is a tiny little thing. I doubt she could even turn the egg.

I also have a Dickey, I love it.

Do you put them in the turner or hand turn ???

Thank you..... My kids & mom (she lives with us) are sooo excited.

Any suggestions on humidity. I usally run mine low, even for ducks & geese. 30-40% Then 60-70% at lockdown.
Turner or hand turn ???

We just set some turkey eggs last night, and were hoping the peas would be laying for us so we could throw some pea eggs in too. Right now the chickens are laying steadily, and the ducks have just started..so hoping the peas will follow the ducks!
