Got my bator, some questions.

Dave, I didn't manage to get the manual in the mail, will do that monday, since I have to stop by the post office anyway - I had to go to the bank and tear the manager a new one this morning.

You're doing good so far without the manual, so when ya get it, just read it over and file it away in case ya forget anything for next time

eta - I have two pips (so far) in the hatcher I showed the pic of. Chicks are technically due tomorrow.

I hate to hijack dave's post but meri, I have the same incubator as dave and I put my eggs in today and I thought you were supposed to put them end over end. I only had them like that about 6 hours. I turned them twice. Do you think they are still OK. I put them on their sides the last time I turned them. Hope you don't mind dave but I was wanting a answer before tomorrow, so I could just start over if I need to and no one has answered the post I wrote yet. If anyone else knows that would be good to.

They should be fine, the first few hours are a lot more forgiving (barring freezing temps) than the next 17 days or so.

I always figure my hens aren't as gentle as I am with the eggs, and they hatch them out ok

The red plugs, the manual says to remove one but I read someones post that said not to until day 18. Just wondering which is right because right now I don't have any thing that measures humidity levels. I'm gonna get one either today or tomorrow.

Thanks, I'm gonna get one today if I can. Do you just have water in the bottom reservoirs or do you have any thing else like sponges in your's?
** I just called Tractor Supply they don't sell any thing that measures humidity, where did you find your's?
